The Going Merry, also called Merry Go, was the Straw Hat Pirates’ first official ship. The Going Merry was given to Luffy and his crew by Kaya”s butler Merry for saving Kaya’s life from Captain Kuro’s plans. The Straw Hat Pirates travel on the Going Merry on many seas including on Skypiea where it sustained major damages. The Merry Go finally broke after “rescuing” the Straw hat and “helped” them escape Enies Lobby. Luffy and his crew said their tearful and or heartfelt goodbyes to the Going Merry while she burned on the sea.
