Portgas D. Ace is the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and Portgas D. Rouge’s son. He was raised with Luffy by Dandan, under the care distance supervision of Garp. Ace was the captain of the Spade Pirates before being defeated and then recruited by Whitebeard into his Pirate crew. Ace later became Whitebeard Pirates 2nd division Captain. Ace possesses the Logia Devil Fruit power of Flame after eating the Mera Mera no Mi. His goal was to find meaning to his existence which he did just before he died. He died during the Marineford War, killed by Akainu. Ace was Luffy and Sabo’s chosen brother.
